Tutors: Luise Horrocks and Anna Tilbrook

The Solo Singers and Piano Accompaniment courses are organised in tandem so that each Solo Singer is paired with a Piano Accompanist for the duration of the Summer School.
Teaching time: Singers will have six teaching sessions, and will also attend sessions with their Piano Accompanist. All singers are encouraged to to observe other singers’ sessions – it is possible to learn as much from listening as from individual classes.
Course requirements: Entry to the Solo Singing course is by audition. All singers who have not previously attended the course should send a recent good-quality recording with their application. It is expected that applicants will be currently receiving singing lessons. First-time applicants should also send a reference from their teacher.
All students will have the chance to perform during Summer School concerts and there are additional opportunities to audition for solos with the Choral courses and to sing in student Composers’ pieces.
We would encourage singers to bring a good selection of songs and arias. You can include items from any category of song e.g. English song, Lied or Melodie as well as operatic or oratorio repertoire The content of each coaching session is determined by what you choose to bring. Please prepare as thoroughly as possible!
