The Solo Singers and Piano Accompaniment courses are organised in tandem so that each Solo Singer is paired with a single Piano Accompanist for the duration of the Summer School. Piano Accompanists can expect to work with two Solo Singers. Coaching sessions will be given with the individual singers with whom you will be paired. You should regard the singers with whom you are paired as a duo for the duration of the week.

Teaching time: Each accompanist will receive six lessons with Robin Davis, in addition to sessions with the solo singing tutors.

Course requirements: Piano Accompanists should have achieved at least Grade 7 at a high standard and must be competent sight-readers. First-time applicants should send a reference from their teacher.

All students have the chance to perform in the Summer School concerts.

Classes include work on piano technique, the importance of words, and the balance between responding and taking the initiative in performance.

Liaising with your singers and preparing their chosen pieces in detail is essential prior to the start of the school. You will be put in touch with your course partners in advance in order to discuss and prepare repertoire.
