8:15pm: Dame Felicity Lott, with Timothy Barratt
We are delighted to welcome Dame Felicity Lott to ISSMUS 2012. She is one of Britain’s best known and best loved singers and has given performances in opera houses and concert venues all over the world. In this recital she will perform a selection of her favourite pieces, including songs by Richard Strauss and Francis Poulenc.

8:15pm: Katy Hamilton – Lecture Recital
Crichton Auditorium, Maidment Building
ISSMUS Music Director Katy Hamilton discusses the fascinating world of domestic singing in the nineteenth century, focussing on the contributions of Johannes Brahms. Featuring live demonstrations of music for four singers and piano, this lecture-recital will feature both lesser-known and popular repertoire (including Brahms’s Liebeslieder) in a discussion of the overlaps between amateur and professional music-making.
